At HASCS, we believe great care goes beyond meeting someone’s clinical needs. It is also about understanding what matters to each person, supporting their independence and helping them enjoy experiences that bring meaning to their lives. Recently, we were delighted to help one of our service users celebrate a very special milestone: her 30th birthday.

A birthday to remember

To mark the occasion, our team supported a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, giving our service user the opportunity to celebrate their birthday doing something they really enjoy.

Following the visit, she shared:

“Thank you so much to HASCS and Toni for taking me to the Harry Potter Studios for my birthday. I had the best time! My favourite part was seeing all the Death Eaters walking around for Halloween. It was such an amazing day, and I’m so grateful that you made it possible for me.”

Care that supports the whole person

Experiences like this reflect an important part of person-centred support. Every person has their own interests, routines and goals. While safe and appropriate clinical care is fundamental, quality of life also matters. HASCS provides nurse-led complex care designed to support people’s independence, dignity and quality of life, with personalised support forming an important part of that approach.

That means looking beyond a person’s care requirements and recognising them as an individual.

Whether it is maintaining familiar routines at home, staying connected with the people and things that matter, or enjoying a special day out, personalised care can help people retain choice and control in everyday life.

It’s this focus on the individual that sits at the heart of our approach to care. You can read more about the principles behind how we support people in our blog, More Than Just Words: How HASCS Values Drive Quality Complex Care.

Making memories together

For our team, being able to support someone with an experience that means so much to them is a privilege.

This particular trip was about far more than visiting a favourite attraction. It was about celebrating a significant birthday in a way that was personal to the individual and creating a memory they could take away from the day. A very happy 30th birthday from everyone at HASCS, and thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special celebration.

Here’s to many more memorable moments.
